OutcomeA contact outside the US, or in a portal without the Marketing SMS add-on, receives the SMS through an installed app, behind the same consent, number and frequency checks as the native specs.

When to use it, when not to

Use it

  • Use it when the recipient's number is not a US number. Native Marketing SMS only reaches US numbers that start with +1 and contain 11 digits.
  • Use it when the portal has no Marketing SMS Long Code or Short Code add-on but already pays for a telephony or SMS app.
  • Use it as the reference block for every SMS spec in this category. Keep the trigger and the delays of the other spec, and swap its Send SMS message step for steps 1 to 5 below.

Skip it

  • Do not use it when the native add-on is in place and all recipients are in the US. The native action keeps consent, quiet hours and reporting inside HubSpot.
