When to use it, when not to

Use it

  • Use it when most SMS recipients are customers or sales contacts kept as non-marketing contacts, and the SMS is their only marketing-type message.
  • Use it when you need to know exactly which contacts were switched for an SMS, and switch only those back.

Skip it

  • Do not use it when recipients already receive marketing email. They are marketing contacts anyway and the guard adds nothing.
  • Do not expect it to make SMS work outside the US. Native Marketing SMS only reaches US numbers that start with +1 and contain 11 digits. For other countries, use the app action in messaging-018, which does not depend on marketing contact status.
