Outcome. Every deal carries a single, always-current "date entered current stage" property, so a report or list filter can flag deals sitting too long in whatever stage they are in, without checking one property per stage.

When to use it, when not to

  • UseUse it when the native per-stage properties, a separate date-entered and time-in-stage pair for every stage, make list building and reporting cumbersome, because you would need to check all of them to catch "any stage, too long."
  • UseUse it as the property foundation other fiches build alerts on top of, see deal-hygiene-006 for a per-stage wait-until nudge, and deal-hygiene-020 for regression detection.
  • SkipDo not use it expecting a live, constantly-incrementing "days in stage" number. HubSpot workflows do not run on a timer that updates a number every day on their own. This fiche stores a date and lets a report or list filter compute the elapsed time relative to today.
  • SkipDo not duplicate the native per-stage properties if your reporting already reads them fine. Check what already exists before building.
